When I was new to the curly girl method, I looked for someone with a similar curl pattern to mine. I thought if I found someone else with loosely wavy hair and followed their routine, it should work for me. Spoiler alert – it didn’t! I later found out this was largely due to differences in our hair type. While we both had wavy hair, we had different thickness, density and porosity.
Finding a blogger or YouTuber or TikTokker or Instagram person with your hair properties can be really helpful. I thought I’d put together a list of wavy and/or curly influencers or content creators and their hair types. Hopefully this can help you find people who have hair really similar to yours, if not your exact hair type.
